TSHC Pharmacy
The TSHC pharmacy serves enrolled students of Iowa State University, and their spouses, with a convenient location, dependable service, and competitive prices. Located inside the main doors of the ISU Thielen Student Health Center, the TSHC pharmacy is newly remodeled to provide access to the pharmacy staff, as well as provide privacy when picking up prescriptions. A private consultation room is available for confidential conversations. The TSHC Pharmacy is handicap accessible. Patient parking is available next to the clinic, and a parking permit can be obtained at the TSHC check-in desk.
Three full time pharmacists and a full support staff fill prescriptions, assist in over-the-counter product selection and provide information about medications. Prescriptions from health care providers licensed in the United States are accepted at TSHC Pharmacy. If an active prescription is located at another pharmacy, the pharmacy staff can transfer the prescription information to TSHC Pharmacy for local convenience. A wide variety of medications are stocked at the pharmacy, and special orders can usually be fulfilled within one business day. Medication information can be provided in a variety of international languages.
TSHC Pharmacy files claims electronically for many third party plans. Please bring prescription insurance cards to the pharmacy to electronically file a prescription claim. Prescription records are kept on file and reports for manual filing or spending accounts can be generated. TSHC Pharmacy is the exclusive pharmacy for the Iowa State University Student and Scholar Health Insurance Pharmacy Plan and the Graduate Assistant and Postdoctoral Research Associate Pharmacy Program.
Pharmacy charges that insurance does not cover, including over the counter products, are charged to the university bill; it may take up to a month for this to show on your UBill. If you wish to pay at the time of pick-up, you may pay by cash or check; we do not accept credit cards.
TSHC Pharmacy offers a convenient, 24 hour, telephone service which allows refill requests to be entered and sent to the pharmacy computer system. The system is monitored during pharmacy business hours. For quicker service, please phone refill requests 2 hours before pick-up. If you phone outside of business hours, your prescription will be filled within two hours of the pharmacy opening. TSHC health care providers are able to provide prescriptions directly to the TSHC Pharmacy. Check in with the pharmacy after appointment if this service is chosen.
