Appointments & Services

The Thielen Student Health Center is here for you and your health!

We work on an appointment basis; we strongly advise that you schedule an appointment for all services. Call 515-294-5801 to make an appointment, or stop by our main desk and schedule one with our staff. We will make every attempt to find an appointment time that fits your schedule. Keep in mind that all appointments and their availability are based on your medical needs and those of your fellow students, meaning we see the sickest students first.

All students enrolled in five or more credit hours pay a health fee, which covers routine office visits for that semester. Students are then responsible for lab fees, medication, x-rays, and some office visits. Your health fee helps keep these charges at a reduced rate. If you have private health insurance it will be billed first; your insurance information must be on file for this to happen. Please check with your insurance provider ahead of time to ensure they will cover TSHC charges. Partners and spouses of students, and students enrolled in less than five credit hours, are also eligible for service by paying the health fee.

If you have any questions regarding billing, please call 515-294-5801 to speak to a billing representative.

Services available to you include:
